174 itemsWelcome to Duke University Libraries, Victorian Womens Literature
This collection of works of literature by British women of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries from the Duke University David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library provides insight not only into the development of the novel, but also of new literary genres in general and the societal forces that gave rise to female authors in the Victorian era. Gothic romances, epistolary novels, and societal "problem" novels are also represented in the collection and attest to the role of female authors in developing the novel as a form.Browse by Subject / KeywordsAll items (most recently added first) -
